As we enter the second half of 2024, HUMAN remains committed to supporting online enterprises in outpacing cybercriminals. Our customers are our top priority; in Q2, we devoted significant resources to building custom integrations and configurations to meet the needs of each individual customer. HUMAN was named a leader in this month’s Forrester Wave™: Bot Management Software, Q3 2024, where we received the highest score possible in “Detection Models,” “Customizable Reports and Dashboards” and “Supporting Services and Offerings,” among other categories. We’re proud to receive this recognition in delivering industry-leading bot mitigation and exceptional service for our customers’ unique needs.

In addition, we made several key enhancements to the Human Defense Platform to ensure that we remain at the forefront of cyberthreat mitigation. MediaGuard

MediaGuard detects and mitigates programmatic ad fraud in real-time to ensure that quality inventory reaches real humans across display, mobile, CTV, and digital audio channels.

Strengthened Mismatch Flagging

An improved approach to domain mismatch SIVT was released. This includes post-bid SIVT flagging, enhanced reporting metrics, and addresses “benign domain mismatches.” This feature allows clients to analyze supply chain and configuration issues, improving inventory quality. It was rolled out to all clients in June and ongoing enhancements will be made as new data is uncovered. 

Compliance Dashboard v 1.2

Two new metrics, SupplyChainObject Complete and Sellers.json Domain Presence, were added to the Compliance Dashboard feature. These metrics help clients identify complete SupplyChainObjects and verify whether a Seller's domain is present in the Sellers.json file. This enhances transparency for clients and moves closer to enabling full supply chain validation. 

Malvertising & Ad Quality 

Malvertising Defense blocks malicious ad behavior while Ad Quality Defense protects ad inventory from content, policy, and technical violations. 

UI Navigation Improvements

Enhanced dashboard navigation for Ad Quality Defense for Platforms and Malvertising Defense for Platforms designed to streamline access for clients. Additionally, onboarding tools improve the onboarding process for clients. With this enhancement, publisher clients can eliminate some of the engineering overhead required to onboard Ad Quality by directly managing it through the dashboard. 

Account Defender

Account Defender detects and neutralizes compromised and fake accounts on apps and websites, before fraud is committed.

Network Event Detections

Network events are a new type of detection event that enhance our ability to identify and neutralize large-scale abuse of fake and compromised accounts and make it easier for customers to understand the scale and complexity of an attack and its relationships. Learn more. 

Account Risk Score and Attack Status API

The new API provides essential data about a given account, including both the risk score of the account and its attack status. This information can be used to enable automated mitigation and response actions following an API call. API Documentation

Updated Account Defender Business Insights Page

The revamped Business Insights page offers fraud team leaders, executives, and decision-makers clear and actionable insights into compromised and fake account activity on their applications. Key benefits showcased include:

• Effort saved: Highlights the extensive and complex fraud monitoring handled by HUMAN
• Effectiveness achieved: Demonstrates the effectiveness of automated mitigation in protecting users with minimal disruption
• Threat knowledge gained: Provides valuable insights into attacker behavior and trends to help inform policy rule adjustments

Code Defender

Code Defender enables businesses to safely benefit from browser scripts by providing complete visibility and control over the client-side supply chain and streamlining PCI DSS (and other) compliance. 

Jira Integration

Customers can now manage their scripts for PCI DSS directly from within JIRA, and changes will be reflected within the PCI DSS dashboard.

Bot Defender

HUMAN Bot Defender protects against sophisticated bot attacks — such as account takeover, carding, and scraping — on web and mobile apps and APIs. 

Precheck

Precheck provides a new way to stop bots by leveraging your existing Enforcer installation to inspect high-risk requests at your application server's edge, before even the first request can hit your application server.  When Bot Defender sees a request coming from a new browser, Precheck serves a two-second animation which validates if the browser is real. Then, we either block the request or allow it to reach the application server. This weeds out bots that are not running from real browsers. Precheck is completely customizable to your brand’s look and feel and can be enabled in your current Bot Defender instance.

VisionOS Support

HUMAN is excited to announce that our software development kit (SDK) now includes support for visionOS, the operating system of Apple’s mixed reality Vision Pro headsets. HUMAN is now the first and only bot management solution that protects applications on visionOS. Read more about the announcement.

Access Tokens in a Cookie

Bot Defender customers can now set access tokens in a cookie instead of a header. This capability enables customers to configure an internal page that sets the access token in users' browsers via a cookie. With this feature, customers can efficiently share access tokens among hundreds of their employees and instruct non-technical team members on setting a custom header. The customer’s employees can then visit this designated page to unblock themselves. Read more detailed documentation.

Multi-Account Users

Customers can now assign multiple accounts to a single user. Users can grant different access permissions for sub-accounts and provide access to sub-accounts without requiring access to the parent account. This enhances customization options for our users, allowing them to tailor access levels even further.
